Atkāzas

12:00pm - 2:00pm or later

Sunday, September 18th, 2016

Please join us on Sunday for atkazas, a Latvian tradition! The day after the wedding, friends and family get together one more time to celebrate and say their goodbyes before heading home.

Atkazas will be held at the Queen Anne Beer Hall starting at 12pm on Sunday, Sept. 18.

This will be a casual get-together with light snacks provided. Queen Anne Beer Hall features a huge selection of beer, as well as a full bar, including mimosas and bloody marys.

Gift Registry

The best gift you can give us is simply your presence at our wedding! If you'd like to give us something to help us start the next chapter of our lives, here are some ideas.

Help us buy a new couch

Our couch

When Dave was in grad school, he acquired a lovely blue leather couch for free from one of his surfer neighbors. Much to Kaira's chagrin, that couch survived the move to Seattle and is still the centerpiece of their living room today.

Any gift you can make that would help us buy a new couch is an awesome gift. I mean, who wants to snuggle up and watch Netflix on that thing?

Help us get our domestic on

We've set up a gift registry at Crate&Barrel with things we need for our home. Any choice from this list is a great one.

Help us go on a sweet honeymoon

Cinque Terre

After our wedding, we'll be saving up to go on our honeymoon next Spring. It's long been our dream to visit countries on the Mediterranean Sea, especially Italy and Greece. Any contribution towards our travel expenses is extremely appreciated.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I bring my kid(s)?

Yes, children are welcome at our wedding. Please let us know as soon as you can so we can accommodate them.

What should I wear?

Dress code: "Cocktail" or "Semi-Formal"

For guys, this dress code calls for a suit with a tie. For women, short dresses that are party-ready. When in doubt, wear a little black dress and dress it up with fun jewelry—or, if you’d rather wear color, opt for something bright and feminine.

Foolproof Outfit: A LBD for women and a suit and tie for men.

Although our wedding is outdoors, the amphitheater area is paved and you will not need to worry about walking on grass.

What will the weather be like?

Seattle has consistently dry, sunny, and warm weather from mid-July through September. The average high temperature in September is 70, with overnight lows rarely dropping below 50. When it does rain, our rain is mostly a drizzle or mist, rarely a downpour like you may have seen depicted on TV!

There is a covered area available at the Olympic Sculpture Park in case of rain and the reception at the Seattle Latvian Center will be held indoors.

For more information, see this page on visitseattle.org.

Will there be an open bar?

You betcha, you party animal you!
